Discover IT is a software company dealing with US based projects since three years. The projects handled are basically, Data base packages, Web designing, and System related Applications. The Operating System used is Sun Solaris with OS 3.1, CDE 2.8 and Kernel 5.7 On Intel system Network. The platforms under which the development activities take place are Oracle, Java, and C++. Two servers are presently being mounted to serve a 50-system network and process 50 user requests. Two more servers are planned to be added in to the network in order to serve nearly100 more systems that are also being planned to be introduced in to the previous network.
My role as an Administrator:
Installing the Solaris operating system and peripherals. To monitor the system processes and authorized user who have already logged on. To create User and Groups and give privileges to them based on their requirements with all security measures. Mounting and un-mounting file systems based on requirements. Auditing the system processes and user accounts and logins. Taking necessary backups.

The product consists of three main modules to achieve this transfer.
(a) Source DLL - The interface between the source application and list grabber exe.
(b) Destination DLL - The interface between the list grabber exe and the destination application.
(c) Application - The interface between source and destination DLLs

This product helps user transfer addresses between text documents, Web Pages, spreadsheet, Databases, application, labels and any PIM / PDA without retyping. This address grabber supports all address book application such as Goldmine, Smart label printer, Smart Business Card Reader, ACT, Lotus Organizer, Maximizer etc.
The product consists of three main modules to achieve this transfer.
(j) Source DLL - The interface between the source application and our address grabber exe.
(k) Destination DLL - The interface between the address grabber exe and the destination application.
(l) Application - The interface between source and destination DLLs.
Using Installshield Installation Script and VC++ installation program is developed for this product. By installing this product on different platforms like Windows 95,98 & NT the product is tested under quality control standards. For each platform different source application and destination application are chosen and test cases are prepared. The findings of testing are logged and reported to development division. This is an iterative process continued till the product is found to be foolproof.

Smart label printer is a printing related application of Seiko corporation. This application is developed for printing label formatable address or any label size matter. For this purpose Seiko developed printers like EZ, Pro-100, 120, 200, 220. The driver files, developed by Seiko, will set the printer configuration by identifying the port to which the printer is connected. Installation program for this product is developed using Installation Script and VC++.
