형수가 종교생활을 열심히 해보라고 권했던 사람 중에는 잘 풀린 사람도 있었다.

그는 열심히 하나님을 믿었고, 그 결과 모범수로서 석방이 되었다.

그리고, 그는 미국으로 유학을 갔다.

And he went abroad in U.S.A..

방학 때는 알바를 해가면서, 박사학위까지 마쳤고, 그는 현재 미국에서 대학교수로 재직중이다.

He ended by doctoral degree with doing part-time during vacation.

He now worked as a professor in U.S.A..

가끔씩 한국에 올 때 형수를 만나뵙고 언제나 감사하다며 인사를 드린다.

Whenever he visited to Korea from time to time, he met my elder brother's wife, told to thank her.

나영웅이라는 모대학의 학생회장을 지낸 사람도 있었다.

Na Yungung was from the students' president of university of presidential.

그는 명문대학의 학생회장 이었는데, 역시 교도소에서 복역중 형수를 만났다.

형수 역시 독실하게 종교생활을 해보라고 권했고, 나영웅은 집안이 불교를 믿는 집안이라서 불교를 열심히 믿었다.

She told strongly him to do religion life, he believed Buddhism hard because he was born from Buddhist family.

형수님은 천주교 신자였지만 어떤 종교를 믿는가는 개의치않았다.

My elder brother's wife was Catholician but she didn't not think importantly what religion he would belive.

나영웅은 독실하게 불교 생활을 하였고, 아침에 일어나서 108번 절도 하고, 그렇게 마음을 다졌다.

Na Yungung did Buddhist life hard and bowed down 108 times every morning.

So he had touched his heart.

그리고, 그는 모범수로 조기에 석방이 되었다.

And he was discharged early as a model prisoner.

나영웅은 사법고시를 준비하였다.

He studied to pass the exam to become a lawyer.

그는 사법고시를 합격한 후 변호사로서 활동 중이다.

He passed the exam so that he was active as a lawyer.

그리고, 형수님께서 좋은 길로 인도하신 분 중에는 역시 서울대 학생회장인 박대웅이란 사람이 있었다.

There was Bak Daeung in whom my elder brother's wife led.

Also he was from students' president of Seoul University.

그는 교도소에서 복역중에 형수님을 만났다.

He met her in a jail.

형수님께서 싸주신 두부고추장무침이라든지, 갓담은 김치라든지, 오징어와 오이와 부추와 당근을 섞은 오징어채무침이라든지, 형수님께서 무척 좋아하시는 오징어순대, 그리고 돼지보쌈 이런 것들을 교도소에서 면회중에 먹고, 그리고, 형수님께서 종교 생활을 열심히 해보라는 권유에 그는 마침내 외삼촌이 목사님이라면서 기독교 생활을 열심히 했다.

He ate Tofu with red pepper paste, Kimchi, Cuttlefish stuffed, Cuttlefish Sundae, Bossam cooked by my elder brother's wife in a jail.

Also she told strongly him to do religion life.

He told, "My uncle is a pastor!".

So he believed hardly Christianity.

형수님께서는 성경책도 사주시고 그리고 자신이 이제껏 교도소에서 생활하면서 느꼈던 것들을 책을 써보라고 노트도 사다주셨다.

She bought Bible for Bak Daeung, and Notes to want what he would write to feel in a jail.

박대웅은 교도소에서 자신이 양심수로서 복역한 내용을 책을 썼고, 그리고 그것을 마침 영어로 번역할 수 있는 실력이 있었다.

He could translate his writing in English, he wrote what he went in a jail as a prisoner of conscience.

그는 한국에서는 그것이 (어찌보면 당연한 결과였을지도 모르지만) 출판되지 않자 미국에서 출간을 하였다.

His book was published to U.S.A..

It could not be published in Korea naturally.

'민주주의를 향한 한 청년의 일지'라며

그리고 미국에서는 그 책이 민주주의를 향한 한 청년의 열의라며 어필이 되면서 베스트셀러 작가가 되었다.

The name of the book was 'A Young Man's Journal For Democracy'.

Because it was appealed in U.S.A., he was best seller author.

박대웅은 지금 박사학위를 마치고, 모대학의 교수이자 베스트셀러 작가로서 활동중이다.

Bak Daeung ended doctoral degree, became a professor or best seller author.

형수님께서는 이렇게 정말 안타까웠던 청춘을 구제해주셨던 분이다.

She rescued this anticipated youth.

그분은 비록 아까운 청춘을 한 집안의 맏며느리로서 아내로서 다 바쳤지만, 그러나 그 분께서는 이렇게 여럿 인생을 살리신 우리의 누나였고 우리의 자랑스런 어머니였던 것이다.

She devoted her youth for our family as the eldest brother's wife, but she was our elder sister & our proud mother who had saved several lives.

나는 한편으로 형수님의 지나간 세월이 너무나 안타깝고, 빼앗겨버린 청춘이 가엾어 눈물을 훌쩍였지만, 또 이렇게 형수님께서 전도해준 아까운 청춘들을 보니까 역시 우리 형수님은 대단하신 분이구나!

마음이 뿌듯해졌다.

I was sorry very much to my elder brother's wife because of depriving her beautiful youth, and I felt pitifully her but I thought great her newly because I thought she led shameful youth.

I was proud of her!
